Born in Osaka. Trained under his father, Tanabe Chikuunsai 1st.
Became member of Naniwa Ranyukai group
His first work was accepted by Teiten exhibition, from then exhibited many times in Teiten exhibition, Shinbunten exhibition, Nitten exhibition.
Assumed the name Chikuunsai 2nd
Recieved Tokusen award and Asakura prize in the 8th Niten exhibition
Awarded the Osaka Prefectural Arts prize
Awarded the Fourth class of the Zuiho-sho (Sacred treasure) from the country.
Awarded a ÒKonjyu Hou-Shou (Dark blue ribbon medal)Ó from the country. (an award given to one who has dedicated a large amount of their own property or funds for the benefit of the country.)
Remained active as a councilor of the Nitten exhibitions and the Nihon Shin kogei Bijutsu Association, and a permanent governer of the Osaka Kogei Assiciation.
Gave the name Chikuunsai 3rd to his son and named himself as ÒIcchikusaiÓ |
