One of the first artist to make baskets for tea. He is talented in making copies of antique baskets.
His baskets are very fit for tea rooms to express "wabi-sabi", one of the important Japanese estatics.

Born in Osaka Japan by the birth name Einosuke Ikeda.
Given the name Hyoua 2nd as a bamboo artist.
Starts a bamboo art class "Chikuraku kai"
Joins "Japanese Traditional Handicraft Exhibition"
Holds a ceramic exhibition. From on, his ceramic works are showed as well at exhibitions.
Gives his name to the 3rd and becomes Hyouou
Passed away at age of 89. |
